The Huayna Picchu Entrance Ticket allows you to enter the Huayna Picchu Mountain and the Inca City of Machu Picchu. This type of ticket has 400 seats available per day, are two groups of entrance of 200 spaces each.

Validity Time:

  • Huayna Picchu Mountain: The Huayna Picchu ticket is only valid for 3 hours; the entrance schedule must be respected; otherwise, you will lose the right of entry.
  • City Inca Machu Picchu: The Ticket is valid for one day, only for the date indicated in the electronic ticket. You can stay in the City as long as you want, respect the closing time 17:00 hours.

How to get to Huayna Picchu?

The City of Machu Picchu is located 6 kilometers from the town of Aguas Calientes also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo and the Mountain of Huayna Picchu is located within the same city.

  • From Cusco to Aguas Calientes: You must take a train to Aguas Calientes, the train embarkation stations are in Poroy and Ollantaytambo. More information about Train to Machu Picchu.
  • From Aguas Calientes to Inca City Machu Picchu: To reach the gateway to Machu Picchu, you must board the bus that leaves every 10 minutes, the journey takes 30 minutes. The alternate option is a 1 hour and a half walk from the Machu Picchu town.
  • From Machu Picchu to Huayna Picchu: The gateway to the mountain Huayna Picchu is a 20 minute walk, to the side of the Sacred Stone. To enter, you must register in the guest book at entry and exit.

What to bring to Huayna Picchu?

The mountain Huayna Picchu is very steep, the route is composed by stairs of asymmetric stones; however, the road is properly conditioned for safe travel.

  • Essential Elements: 1 bottle of water, walking shoes or comfortable shoes with thick plant, sun block.
  • What to wear: It is recommended to wear light and comfortable clothes, remember that Machu Picchu is a mountainous area, and the walk will make you warm. The mornings are humid but with the passing of the hours the weather becomes warmer.
    Dry Season (April to October): Shorts, t shirts, hats, sunglasses, insect repellent.
    Rainy Season (November to March): Long trousers, raincoats, rain ponchos.
